It’s some kind of disease, some kind of infection, some kind of brain-invasive parasite, a cocktail of drugs gone haywire, a new pesticide designed to turn caterpillars cannibal, sentient radio waves, unleashed demonic possession, vampires, werewolves, zombies. Nobody knows what it is.

But everybody knows, if they catch you, they kill you, they eat you, they infect you, and when the infection takes over, you’re gone. Whatever they are, creatures of whatever terrible violence, you’re one of them now.
